Tiger for x86

Many geeks has tried this. Some are succesful, some are not so succesful. So I give my self a try. This is not something new, but many people dont even heard about OSx86 yet.

What the hell is that?
It is a hacked Mac OS X that supposed to run only on the new Mac that sports core-duo chip from intel. Some ppl hacked the developer version and fit it on normal x86 PC --that's why they call it OSx86.

What is Mac?
Mac is computer made by Apple Computing. They made their system as comfortable as possible for their user. Selected hardware and special software are employed on every Apple based system. You can hardly found hardware mismatch or conflicted hardware or such in normal Mac. That's because Apple built their own Operating System and a few selected hardware. They work differently from PC (x86), they run different software, they ... different.
It is like buying a special computer from a shop that also built their own operating system. Some people say: "It just works". Less hardware problem, stable operating system, good hardware package, ... that means user don't have to think a lot about their computer system and concentrating on their job. This has made Mac as a preferable choice for many production companies. More on Mac...

Having OSX runing on x86
Before, running MacOS is only possible if you actually buy a Mac computer --which is rather expensive. There are several Mac emulator for PC (such as PearPC), but it doesnt run very well. It was like.. "either you own a Mac, or u just another computer user".
So it was quite fun to see the 'elite' computer system hacked. And you dont have to actually buy the expensive Mac to see the OS running.
This hacked version is not running as smoothly as if you buy the original Mac. That mostly because most of us dont have the same exact hardware that Mac use --and because this is the hacked version anyway. So some hardware are either not working or need extra tweaking. This is contrary to what many people expect from having a Mac: more work with less problem. But again.. for a geek like me, it is FUN to see that operating system running on my NORMAL PC.
For Geek: If you haven't try this, you better try.
For Geek who never heard of Mac: Don't bother to try.
For non-Geek: Get an original Mac instead.

What for?
For me it was more to the satirical part of the idea. Where the "mighty Mac" got hacked. It was like seeing a royal wearing peasent's clothes.
